The bidding was awarded to Sky Lounges Services, after completing the procedures in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Law, and in accordance with the legal and administrative standards of transparency and competitiveness, in a way that preserves the interest of the Lebanese state and secures the best operational and investment conditions.
This achievement comes as a result of direct and diligent follow-up by Minister Rasamny, who placed the file of President Rene Moawad Airport – Qlayaat among the ministry’s priorities since he assumed his duties, based on a vision that considers the restarting of the airport not just an investment project, but rather a strategic national step to strengthen the air transport infrastructure, relieve pressure on Rafic Hariri International Airport – Beirut, and expand the operational capabilities of Lebanese civil aviation.
The project is also expected to constitute an economic and development lever for northern Lebanon and Akkar, by stimulating tourism and commercial activity and logistical services, and creating direct and indirect job opportunities, thus strengthening the region’s position within the national economic cycle.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed that this path reflects the state’s commitment to launching vital projects in accordance with legal principles and good governance standards, and in a way that restores confidence in the ability of Lebanese institutions to implement long-awaited strategic projects.
The Ministry thanked all the official, administrative and technical bodies that contributed to the success of this path, and to the people of Akkar and the North and all the Lebanese who believed that President Rene Moawad Airport – Qlayaat constitutes a comprehensive national project and an essential step towards a new phase of growth and investment and Lebanon’s restoration of its vital role in the transport and services sector in the region.
