The World Bank office in Lebanon witnessed a high-level meeting of the Partnership Council of the Financing Facility (LFF), which included the Minister of Finance, Yassine Jaber, the Head of the World Bank Office, Enrique Armas, and representatives of the European Union and donor countries such as France, Germany, and Canada. The meeting focused on evaluating the reform path of public financial management, and ways to ensure the continuity of digital systems in the tax, customs, and cadastre sectors.

During the meeting, a package of technical achievements was reviewed, most notably the modernization of the Ministry of Finance’s digital infrastructure and the development of the customs system (ASYCUDA). For his part, Minister Jaber called for moving from the logic of “crisis management” to “sustainable institutional reform,” stressing the necessity of comprehensive digital connectivity between state institutions and the Bank of Lebanon to raise the efficiency of tax collection and enhance transparency.
