New leaks revealed the “Galaxy Glasses” smart glasses that Samsung is developing, scheduled to see the light during the year 2026, as part of an advanced generation of wearable devices supported by artificial intelligence.

The company appears to be in the process of making a strong entry into this market, through a project based on artificial intelligence technologies and the Android XR platform, in an attempt to strengthen its position in the field of extended reality and provide a more advanced user experience.

Light and comfortable design
Information indicates that the glasses, known internally as “Jinju”, will come with a weight not exceeding 50 grams, making them suitable for daily use without feeling discomfort.

Advanced technologies
The glasses are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 processor designed for augmented reality applications, in addition to integrating artificial intelligence technologies from Google Gemini, with a focus on voice interaction instead of traditional screens.

Practical features
The glasses will include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera to capture photos and video from the user’s perspective, in addition to built-in microphones and speakers for a smooth audio experience.
It will also support functions such as:

Simultaneous translation
Mobility assistance
Recognize surrounding information

Which makes it closer to a smart wearable personal assistant.

Limited battery
Reports indicate a small battery with a capacity of about 155 mAh, which provides operation for limited hours, which means a heavy reliance on the smartphone to process data and operate advanced features.

The first version will not include an internal screen, as it will be closer to audio smart glasses, rather than an integrated augmented reality system.

Bet on the XR market
This step comes within a broader plan by Samsung to strengthen its presence in the XR extended reality market, and compete with companies such as Meta, while working later on a more advanced version equipped with a micro-LED screen.

Launch date and price
The glasses are expected to be released in the second half of 2026, at a price ranging between $379 and $499, within a mid-range category that combines modern design with smart functions.
