The armed forces added that they “seize the initiative and manage the Strait of Hormuz and control it intelligently,” and stressed that they are monitoring all movements, warning that any new mistake by the United States or Israel “will be met with a more destructive and deadly response than before.”
It also considered that the United States is a partner in any Israeli aggression against Iran and its interests, stressing that it will confront this “firmly,” and that its forces remain on high alert and “hands on the trigger” to prevent any sudden attempt.
In a related context, Iran confirmed its continued support for “the resistance front in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq as before,” explaining that it does not pose a threat to the countries of the region, and called for cooperation to “expel the American army that destabilizes security.”
She also called on the Iranian people to continue their presence in the squares and streets during the coming nights, with the aim of thwarting any efforts to ignite strife, as she put it.
These statements come after the entry into force of the declared truce between the United States and Iran, which will last for two weeks, as part of a negotiating process sponsored by Pakistan with the aim of reaching a final agreement that resolves the outstanding issues between the two parties.
US President Donald Trump had announced the suspension of military operations for two weeks, indicating that this decision came after achieving “the main military objectives” and opening the way for negotiations towards a long-term settlement. On the other hand, Tehran announced that it had accepted the truce based on grounds that respected its sovereignty and demands.
Despite the entry into force of the truce, the statements of the Iranian Armed Forces reflect Tehran’s insistence on the language of force and deterrence, while emphasizing military readiness and continued support for its allies in the region, while the Lebanese front is still outside the scope of comprehensive calm, amid a major field escalation witnessed in recent days.
