Samsung TVs are starting to receive the built-in Google Cast feature, not only in the latest 2026 models, but also in some older devices via software updates.
This represents a major shift in Samsung’s smart TV platform, after years of the company’s reluctance to offer native support for Google Cast, relying instead on its own system.
Samsung’s product listings for 2026 confirm that the streaming feature will be an integral part of new devices, which puts it among the ranks of competing companies that have been offering this feature for a long time.
At the same time, some users of old Samsung TVs noticed that “Google Cast” appeared on their devices through system updates. Reports indicate that the “S90D OLED” TV obtained this feature through the “One UI” update on the “Tizen” system, and reference to it appeared in the details of the update.
This expansion means that many users may not need to buy a new TV to enjoy one of the most popular streaming methods, especially as Google continues to develop the capabilities of this service.
This development also comes at a time when LG has surpassed Samsung in integrating “Google Cast” into all of its TVs, which further consolidates the position of this feature as an essential element and not just a secondary addition.
However, it is still unclear which older Samsung models will receive this update, and to what extent support will be included. Also, it has not yet been confirmed whether some other features associated with Google services will also reach older devices.
