Apple has issued an update to the iOS 26.4 operating system, allowing the addition of the “CarPlay” feature, which now supports a new category of applications, including artificial intelligence assistants from other companies, such as the “ChatGPT” application, which recently launched a version dedicated to the “CarPlay” platform.
This trend comes in light of the growing interest in chatbots supported by artificial intelligence, which is clearly evident in applications such as “ChatGPT”, “Gemini” and “Claude” on the lists of the most popular applications in electronic stores.
Thanks to this update, users can now benefit from these smart assistants while driving, thanks to their support in the “CarPlay” system.
In related news, “ChatGPT” is the first application from a leading company in the field of artificial intelligence to reach the “CarPlay” platform, allowing interaction with the “OpenAI” assistant through voice conversation mode only.
On the other hand, the assistant “Siri” is expected to witness a major update based on artificial intelligence techniques in iOS 27, with the aim of making it more interactive and able to compete with modern chatbots.
It is expected that the new update will integrate Siri more deeply with Apple services such as maps, music, and podcasts, with the ability to control it via voice commands or the microphone button in the car, in addition to developing its capabilities to work seamlessly within the diverse device system such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
