A statement by the Ministry regarding telecommunications services in the regions

The Ministry of Communications announced its ongoing field monitoring of the communications sector around the clock, with the aim of ensuring the continued provision of services throughout the country, despite the exceptional conditions it is going through.

A statement issued by the ministry stated that “the Ogero teams and the companies “Alfa” and “Touch” are working in extremely difficult conditions, and in many cases under direct risks, to maintain the operation of networks, carry out repairs, and secure nutrition for vital sites, especially those that form the backbone of communications in the affected areas.”

In parallel, the Ministry monitors on a daily basis the state of networks in displacement areas, where increasing pressure represents an additional challenge. Necessary measures are taken to redistribute loads and maintain a minimum quality of service, despite the age of the networks.

In addition, work is being done to ensure continuity of international communication and to develop alternative plans in anticipation of any emergency that may affect the infrastructure, in order to ensure that Lebanon remains connected to the outside world in various circumstances.

The Ministry concluded by emphasizing that “the priority at this stage is to maintain service continuity, protect networks, and intervene quickly in the event of any malfunction. It follows field developments moment by moment and takes the necessary decisions according to changing data, ensuring the continuity of this vital facility for all Lebanese.”
