The Ministry of Communications announced its close and continuous follow-up, around the clock, to the management of the communications sector in the field, with the aim of ensuring the continued provision of services throughout the country, despite the difficult conditions that Lebanon is going through.
In an official statement, the Ministry stated that the work teams affiliated with the “Ogero” Authority and “Alfa” and “Touch” companies are making strenuous efforts, under harsh and sometimes dangerous conditions, to maintain the functioning of the networks, make the necessary repairs, and provide the necessary energy to important sites, especially those that are considered essential for the work of communications in the affected areas.
She also explained that she pays daily attention to monitoring the status of networks in displacement areas, where the enormous pressure on the infrastructure represents an additional challenge, which requires taking measures to redistribute loads and maintain a minimum quality of service, despite the age of some networks.
In addition, the Ministry referred to the efforts made to ensure the continuity of international communication and to develop alternative plans in anticipation of any emergency circumstance that may negatively affect the infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring that Lebanon remains in contact with the outside world at various times.
The Ministry stressed that the most important thing at this stage is to maintain continuity of service, protect networks, and intervene immediately when any malfunctions occur, stressing that it follows field developments moment by moment and takes appropriate decisions based on changing data, in order to ensure the continuation of this vital facility for all Lebanese.
