Sony has announced an increase in the prices of its gaming devices around the world, including the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro devices, in addition to the PlayStation Portal mobile device.
The new prices will be implemented from the beginning of next April, with differences in the amount of increase depending on each market.
The price of the “PlayStation 5” is expected to witness an increase of approximately $100 in the United States, while the increase in the price of the “PlayStation 5 Pro” may reach $150, and the “PlayStation Portal” device is likely to increase in price by about $50.
Sony explained in a statement reported by “aitnews” that this decision came as a result of “continuing pressures in the global economy,” including inflation and high component costs, in addition to problems in supply chains.
This increase is surprising given the timing, as gaming console prices typically decline over time, but the current circumstances appear to have forced companies to review their pricing policies.
Sony seems confident of continued demand for its devices, especially high-performance devices such as the PlayStation 5 Pro, which provide an advanced gaming experience. (Erm News)
