Walid Jumblatt, former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, held a phone call with Youmna Bashir Gemayel, during which he praised her recent opinions, describing them as reflecting a deep sense of patriotism in this critical period that Lebanon is going through.
This call comes within the framework of a series of supportive political positions expressed by many officials. Earlier, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri made a similar call to Gemayel, during which he praised her “comprehensive and sincere Lebanese national positions.”
For her part, she returned the favor to Berri, stressing that she was expressing her convictions “with all sincerity,” and added: “Stay great, Mr. President.”
It is worth noting that Gemayel had previously condemned any attack or violation targeting the Lebanese people or Lebanese lands in any part of the country’s area of 10,452 square kilometers, affirming her categorical rejection of any infringement on national sovereignty, and said: “We will definitely confront any attack or violation.”
