In the context of escalating regional tensions and the increasing pace of international dialogues, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, met in Washington with the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, to discuss means of supporting and developing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
During this meeting, the two parties discussed in depth the strong strategic relations between the State of Qatar and the United States, and discussed ways to develop them, with a special focus on the defense and security fields, in light of the successive developments taking place in the region.
The two sides also stressed the need for continued coordination and mutual consultation between them to confront various regional challenges, in a way that serves and enhances security and stability at the regional and international levels.
This meeting comes as part of a series of intense diplomatic moves between Washington and its allies in the region, in light of the continuing military escalation and increasing security tensions, which pushes towards strengthening political and military coordination with the aim of containing the situation and preventing the expansion of the scope of the conflict.
