Al-Taybeh Ambush - Al-Qantara: The party reveals the full story

Hezbollah’s military media published a detailed statement about the confrontation that Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) fighters waged with the Israeli army yesterday, Wednesday, on the Taibe-Qantara axis in southern Lebanon.

The statement explained that two days ago, forces from the 7th Brigade of the 36th Division of the Israeli army pushed a remote-controlled bulldozer between the Al-Muhaisbat area in Al-Taybeh and the town of Al-Qantara, with the aim of reconnaissing the locations of the resistance defenses. He pointed out that the fighters monitored the movement and kept the bulldozer under surveillance with the aim of luring the Israeli forces into a precise ambush.

According to the statement, at 18:50 pm on Wednesday evening, an Israeli armored company advanced in a longitudinal array from the direction of Al-Muhaisbat towards Al-Qantara in preparation for taking control of it. He explained that the resistance fighters waited until the vehicles entered the firing range before they launched guided missiles targeting the middle faction, which consisted of four Merkava tanks and a D9 military bulldozer, which led to their destruction.

The statement added that the rear faction, consisting of four Merkava tanks, tried to take cover under a thick smoke cover, but the fighters targeted it again with guided missiles, which, according to the statement, led to the complete destruction of its preparations.

He pointed out that the resistance groups’ artillery support groups simultaneously targeted the leadership headquarters of the Israeli forces in the Taybah, Rab Thaleen, and Al-Awaidah projects, in addition to the reinforcement forces that arrived to evacuate casualties.

The statement continued that the Introduction faction tried to advance towards the entrance to the town of Qantara, but the resistance fighters targeted it with direct missiles, which led to the destruction of a D9 military bulldozer and a Merkava tank, in addition to a second tank near the tank, which, according to the statement, prompted the Israeli soldiers to abandon some of the vehicles and withdraw on foot towards the Al-Muhaisbat area.
