American bases in the Middle East were damaged as a result of field losses

The New York Times reported, citing official sources, that Iran caused serious damage to a number of American military bases in the Middle East, as a response to the American-Israeli war.

The newspaper indicated that the Iranian attacks forced the American forces to change their locations, as many soldiers were forced to leave their bases and go to various hotels and offices in the region, according to what it quoted military officials and members of the army.

She explained that most of the American ground forces have begun to adopt the “remote combat” method, with the exception of the Air Force teams that continue to operate and maintain aircraft and carry out attacks.

Repositioning of soldiers

The newspaper reported that about 40,000 American soldiers were present in the region at the beginning of the war, before the Central Command repositioned thousands of them, as some of them were transferred outside the Middle East, while others remained inside the region but far from their main bases.

It quoted current and former military officials as saying that these developments led to an increase in the complexity and difficulty of military operations.

Damaged bases and victims

The report indicated that a number of American bases, numbering 13 in the region, have become almost idle, especially in Kuwait, where 6 American soldiers were killed as a result of an attack that targeted the port of Shuaiba and led to the destruction of a tactical operations center.

It also pointed out that Ali Al Salem Air Base was attacked by drones and missiles, which led to damage to aircraft structures and injuries among soldiers, in addition to damage to maintenance and fuel facilities at Camp Buhring.

This comes in light of the continued Iranian attacks on American military sites in the region, coinciding with the escalation and expansion of the military confrontation.
