Mysterious messages warn Mashghara and Sahmor: field escalation and psychological warfare on the horizon

Residents of the towns of Mashghara and Sohmar in the Western Bekaa Valley received a series of calls from international numbers urging them to evacuate their homes immediately, claiming that the area would be a target for possible Israeli strikes, in a development that reflects the escalation in security tension.

These calls sparked panic and confusion among the local population, especially in conjunction with the ongoing military escalation in the south and other areas of Lebanon, according to information from field sources. Many residents took the initiative to inform the relevant security services, which began an investigation into the nature and source of these communications, with initial expectations that they might be part of “psychological warfare.”

This comes in the midst of a major military escalation in the country, as the last hours witnessed a series of Israeli raids targeting various areas in the south, including “Naqoura,” “Ain Qana,” “Aita al-Shaab,” and the western sector, in addition to artillery shelling targeting “Bint Jbeil” and “Ainatha.”
