White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett announced the start of limited access for oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, which reflects a relative improvement in maritime traffic despite the continuing state of tension.
On television, he stated, “The administration of President Donald Trump expects the war with Iran to continue for weeks, not months, with military operations continuing.”
Hassett also drew attention to the fact that “the American economy has not suffered significant damage as a result of the conflict so far, considering this a positive indicator in light of the turmoil in global markets.”
He stressed that “Trump will not back down before fully achieving his goals,” thus emphasizing the continuation of the hard-line policy towards Iran.
In a related context, Hassett indicated that “the US administration is considering securing alternative sources of fertilizers in light of the disruption of supplies, including heading towards Venezuela and perhaps Morocco.”
