After a muscle injury, Ronaldo travels to Spain for treatment

Jorge Jesus, coach of the Saudi Al-Nasr Club, reported that the team’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, will go to Spain to receive treatment following a muscle injury he suffered during the match against Al-Fayha in the Saudi Professional League.

Ronaldo was affected by the injury as he left the field near the end of the match that ended with Al-Nasr’s 3-1 victory at the beginning of the week, and then the club announced that the Portuguese national team captain had suffered a muscular injury, without specifying the period that he would be absent from the field.

Al-Nasr team hopes that the 41-year-old player’s absence will not be long, as the team relies heavily on him in its attempt to win the Saudi Professional League title, which has been missing from its coffers since the 2018-2019 season. Al-Nasr currently leads the league standings with 61 points, two points ahead of Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia and three points ahead of Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia.

“Jesus” stated in a press conference before the NEOM match tomorrow, Saturday: “After the tests, it became clear that Ronaldo’s injury requires rest and treatment, so we decided to travel to Spain.”

The Portuguese coach explained that this decision was based on previous experiences with players such as Ayman Yahya, Inigo Martinez, and Sami Al-Naji, who received treatment outside the Kingdom during the current season.

Some sources state that Ronaldo prefers to receive treatment under the supervision of his personal doctor in Madrid, where he previously played for Real Madrid.

It is not yet clear whether the player will participate with the Portuguese national team in the two friendly matches against the “Mexico National Football Team” and the “United States National Football Team” during the upcoming international break in late March and early April, as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Ronaldo is considered one of the most prominent stars in the Saudi League this season, as he scored 21 goals in 22 matches.
