Zenon: It is necessary to obtain legal licenses before selling gas cylinders

Farid Zainoun, head of the Union of Workers and Distributors in the Gas and Gas Supplies Sector, issued a statement in which he appealed to “the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities, which seeks to implement the Ministry of Energy and Water’s letter No. 3472/AM dated 15/12/2025 stipulating regulating the sale of gas bottles, and obliging all shops and stores that sell gas bottles, including mini markets and Samana, to legally register, to obtain legal licenses before any sale.”

Zenon also called for granting these stores an appropriate grace period to complete the required registration procedures, in order to avoid any obstruction to the process of distributing the necessary gas to citizens, especially with the advent of winter and the exacerbation of the current crises.

He stressed “the union’s keenness on the necessity of cooperation between all official authorities and shops to ensure the implementation of the decision in a way that achieves the safety of citizens and the continuity of gas distribution, and to support the implementation of the decision in all governorates to guarantee citizens’ rights to public safety, on the condition of preserving food and energy security in the country in these difficult circumstances.”
