The Bekaa is under bombardment: raids target Tamnin and Sha'at following an escalation in the region

The Bekaa is witnessing an increasing military escalation with Israel launching new raids targeting areas around Baalbek, amid an increase in the flights of military and reconnaissance aircraft.

A reporter reported that Israeli aircraft raided the Tamnin plain towards the Rayak-Baalbek highway, and carried out two raids on the town of Shaat in the northern Bekaa, which led to the echoes of violent explosions being heard in large parts of the region.

Caution and anxiety prevail in the villages surrounding the sites of the raids, with the continued intense aerial overflights, while the nature of the targets that were bombed or the extent of the resulting losses is not yet clear.

This escalation comes after a series of attacks that targeted the Bekaa region since the morning, as information reported earlier that Israeli aircraft bombed the town of Harbta, north of Baalbek, without causing casualties at that time.

It was also observed that reconnaissance aircraft were flying at a medium altitude over the villages of the eastern chain, reaching the outskirts of Baalbek, coinciding with the sounds of loud explosions being heard near the villages of the Bekaa.

In a related context, Israeli drones targeted the area between the Nasiriyah Plain, Sarein, and Ali Al-Nahri, specifically the Ramliyeh area, with two successive raids, followed by an air strike in the same location minutes later, which led to a strong explosion being heard throughout the Bekaa Valley.

This escalation in the Bekaa coincides with intense Israeli raids targeting various areas in Lebanon during the past few hours, including the south and the capital, Beirut.

This comes amid repeated Israeli warnings about targeting sites it claims are affiliated with Hezbollah, while the “Islamic Resistance” announced the implementation of missile and artillery operations targeting Israeli army sites and gatherings on the Lebanese-Palestinian border, in response to the raids that targeted Lebanese cities and towns.
