Dangerous escalation: Israel targets military sites and airports deep inside Iran

The Israeli army announced on Monday that it had carried out a series of new air strikes inside Iranian territory, targeting various military sites in several cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz.

The Israeli army reported in a statement that its warplanes bombed a command center belonging to the “Quds Force,” the external arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, in the heart of the capital, Tehran.

The statement also pointed out that a site designated for manufacturing and storing missiles in the city of Isfahan was targeted, in addition to other sites located on the outskirts of the city of Shiraz in southern Iran, confirming the completion of all planned raids.

The Israeli army explained that its aircraft also launched attacks on six major Iranian military airports during the night, resulting in the destruction of a number of aircraft, including those belonging to the “Quds Force” and combat helicopters.

The army continued in its statement that these operations aim to undermine Iran’s ability to deploy its air forces and disrupt its efforts to supply its allies with weapons in the region.

Later, the Israeli army announced the start of a new, large-scale phase of raids in the capital, Tehran, in the context of the continuing military escalation between the two parties.

These raids come amid the escalation of the military confrontation between Israel and Iran since the launch of the “joint military operation” carried out by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets on “last February 28.”

Since then, the region has witnessed a noticeable escalation and exchange of military strikes, amid international warnings of the danger of the conflict expanding and its potential impact on the security of the region and on the movement of global energy.
