In the midst of escalation: "Free Patriotic" He renews his support for the army and the government

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation from the Free Patriotic Movement, which included Vice President for Political Affairs Martine Najm Katili, and MPs Nada Al-Bustani, Nicola Sehnaoui, and Cesar Abi Khalil. The discussions focused on the current situation in light of the ongoing war, and how to address the negative effects that may result from it on Lebanon.

After the meeting, Representative Cesar Abi Khalil stated that the delegation reaffirmed the movement’s support for “the army” and “supportive of the government’s decisions,” while expressing its “condemnation of the Israeli aggression.”

He also explained that the delegation drew attention to the need to provide urgent humanitarian support to the displaced from the south, the suburbs, and the Bekaa, and stressed the importance of strengthening national unity among all Lebanese, especially in the communities hosting the displaced, by preventing any form of incitement, suppressing any signs of strife, and avoiding any clashes.

Abi Khalil explained that the delegation also stressed the importance of revitalizing the Lebanese diplomatic role to stop the Israeli escalation, and urged the international community to intervene to stop its “crimes” and “stop the attacks of displacement and systematic destruction,” in addition to providing the necessary humanitarian aid to spare Lebanon from a catastrophe that may worsen.

He pointed out that the delegation heard from “President Nawaf Salam” a detailed explanation of the efforts made in this context, expressing his aspiration for “the war to end quickly to begin redressing the situation.”
