The Bahraini Ministry of Interior issued a statement in the early hours of Friday morning, revealing that a hotel and two residential buildings in the capital, Manama, had been subjected to an Iranian attack. The Ministry indicated that the attack caused material damage, but did not result in any injuries or deaths.
The Ministry stated in its statement that firefighting teams were able to extinguish a fire that broke out in an apartment inside one of the two buildings as a result of this attack.
The Ministry had previously sounded sirens and called on citizens and residents to remain calm, go to the nearest safe place, and adhere to the instructions issued through official channels.
In a related context, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force reported that air defense systems are still working to confront successive waves of Iranian attacks targeting Bahraini territory.
The command confirmed that the air defenses succeeded in destroying 78 missiles and 129 drones heading towards Bahrain since the beginning of the attacks.
The General Command stressed that targeting civilian targets and private property with ballistic missiles and drones constitutes a clear violation of “international humanitarian law” and the “Charter of the United Nations.”
