Three tennis players were acquitted after eating contaminated meat

Three South American tennis players were able to resume their professional careers after the International Tennis Integrity Agency acquitted them in a doping case linked to the consumption of tainted meat.

Tests conducted on Conner Huertas del Pino (Peru), Mateo Barreiros Reyes (Brazil), and Andres Urrea (Colombia) revealed the presence of boldenone, a banned stimulant, during their participation in the Challenger Tennis Championship in Bogotá, Colombia, in May of last year.

The agency stated that the players unintentionally ate contaminated meat, and provided evidence and documents proving this, including detailed invoices and information about the source of the meat during the tournament period.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency released the results of its investigation on Wednesday.
