She fled from her home in fear. A person was accused of assaulting a child

Judge Tariq Bou Nassar, the Public Advocate of Appeal in Mount Lebanon, announced the indictment of an individual under Article 509 of the Penal Code, for committing acts of harassment and immorality against a minor girl, based on the investigations and judicial procedures that took place.

According to the information contained in the case, the minor girl was frequenting the accused’s house with her aunt to deliver food to him, due to his poor eyesight and having undergone previous surgery. In his testimony, the accused stated that he is related to the girl through her aunt, and that he works in a restaurant from eight in the morning until eight in the evening, and that he is single and lives alone. He also indicated that he suffers from poor vision as a result of glaucoma and underwent surgery about four or five years ago, and that since that time the minor has no longer visited him and he has not seen her for nearly five years, categorically denying all the accusations against him.

On the other hand, the minor girl presented a story in which she stated that while she was in the accused’s house, and after her aunt entered inside, the accused forcefully kissed her and harassed her by touching her under her clothes, which caused her a state of extreme panic and she fled the house. According to her account, the girl almost got into a traffic accident while escaping, and she is still suffering from psychological effects as a result of what she was exposed to and is subject to continuous psychiatric medical follow-up.

Accordingly, after reviewing the case, investigations, and statements, the Public Prosecutor of Appeal in Mount Lebanon filed an accusation against the arrested accused and referred him to the First Investigating Judge in Mount Lebanon to follow up on the investigation and take the necessary legal measures.
