Scientists are developing a diamond atomic battery that works for 5,700 years without the need for recharging

Scientists have discovered an innovative technology: developing a “nuclear battery” made of artificial diamonds, which is capable of continuously producing energy for up to 5,700 years.

This technology is based on the use of radioactive materials left over from nuclear reactors, especially carbon-14 isotopes, which are embedded within diamond structures to directly convert radiation into electrical energy.

This battery features no moving parts, does not require regular maintenance, and does not produce any harmful emissions, as the diamond coating acts as a protective barrier that prevents radiation from leaking out.

This battery is expected to bring about a radical transformation in the power supply to devices whose batteries are difficult to replace, such as: “pacemakers,” “satellites,” and “spacecraft” that undertake long journeys.
