"dead": New design of lighter headphones and external processing chip

Technical sources revealed Meta’s plan to make radical changes in the design of future virtual and augmented reality headsets. The company seeks to “reinvent” its devices to become more comfortable and suitable for extended use, with the aim of dominating the spatial computing market.

The new design relies on separating the processing unit and battery from the headphone body, and transferring them to an “external processing unit” that can be worn independently or connected via cable.

This structural modification will make the headset significantly lighter, thus solving the “head heaviness” problem that was the biggest challenge for users. Thanks to the external processing, Mita will be able to provide the device with more powerful sensors and higher-resolution screens, without fear of the device touching the face overheating.

These developments come in the context of intense competition with Apple and its Vision Pro device, as Mita relies on providing a user experience that combines outstanding performance and maximum comfort.

These technologies are expected to be the cornerstone of future generations of headsets, which may be unveiled at their upcoming annual conferences, paving the way for VR to be further integrated into everyday work and entertainment.
