"Siri 2.0": Imminent launch and anticipated innovative features

A recent report revealed the possible date for the appearance of Apple’s new voice assistant, Siri 2.0, which is expected to come with the iOS 26.4 update during next spring.

The report indicated that users will be able to try Siri 2.0 before the official launch, by installing the beta version of the system, which Apple is believed to begin rolling out in the coming weeks. According to Apple journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the first beta version of iOS 26.4 Beta will be available the week of February 23.

What will Siri 2.0 offer? This update represents a quantum leap in Siri’s capabilities, as it will be able to access text messages, email, calendar, and reminders, in addition to photos, videos, browsing history, calls, and voicemail.

This advanced integration allows the voice assistant to handle complex queries, such as: “What time is my reservation at Benihana on Tuesday?” Without the need for user intervention. This feature brings to mind a previous promotional advertisement for Apple two years ago, in which British actress Bella Ramsay appeared, as she used Siri to identify someone she had previously met. But the ad was later deleted after the launch of Siri 2.0 was postponed.

Siri 2.0 is based on a new artificial intelligence model called Apple Foundation Model (AFM) v10, which is a huge model that includes about 1.2 trillion parameters. It was developed in cooperation with Google in a deal estimated at about one billion dollars, and it relies on Gemini 3 technologies.

It will also feature for the first time “smart agent” capabilities, which enable Siri to perform complete tasks instead of just providing answers, such as searching for a driver’s license photo and automatically sending it to the insurance company.

Despite these developments, the version that turns Siri into an interactive chatbot similar to “GBT Chat” and “Gemini” will not be available before iOS 27. It is expected to be revealed during Apple’s WWDC developer conference this summer, with a trial version of it being released in June.

For those who want to try Siri 2.0 early, they can register for the “Apple” beta program via the beta.apple.com website, keeping in mind that the beta versions may contain technical errors and affect the device’s performance and battery life.

After registering, you can go to: Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, then choose iOS 26 Developer Beta, knowing that Apple no longer charges fees for developer accounts.

With the launch of iOS 26.4 Beta 1, users will be among the first to experience the new generation of Siri before its official launch.
