Lebanon is on the verge of weather changes soon. After days of relative warmth, it is preparing to receive a cold air mass that will affect the weather in the coming hours.
In this context, the head of the Meteorological Department branch at Beirut Airport, Wissam Abu Khashfa, told us, “Lebanon is witnessing relatively stable and warm weather today, Monday, with temperatures higher than their seasonal averages, with the temperature on the coast reaching about 23 degrees.”
He added, “This stability will not last long, as the weather begins to gradually change starting tomorrow, Tuesday, with a noticeable drop in temperatures.”
Abu Khashfa also explained that “Lebanon will be affected, starting Tuesday evening and early Wednesday, by a fast and moderately effective cold air mass, bringing with it rain and snowfall on the highlands.”
He added, “Rain begins to fall at dawn on Wednesday, and the weather becomes volatile, with a further drop in temperatures to reach their seasonal levels.”
He pointed out that “during the daytime hours of Wednesday, rain is expected, which may be heavy at times, accompanied by strong winds, lightning, and thunder, in addition to snowfall on highlands above 1,600 meters.”
He continued, “The weather on Thursday remains generally rainy, with light to scattered rain, and will begin to improve gradually starting in the evening hours.”
Regarding temperatures, he stated that “the temperature on the coast ranges between 15 and 23 degrees, and in the mountainous areas it ranges between 10 and 17 degrees, while in the interior regions it is recorded between 9 and 20 degrees.”
He concluded his speech by explaining that “the humidity ranges between 30 and 60 percent, and that the sea condition is rough, while the water temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius.”
