In a prominent sporting achievement, Australian golfer Elvis Smiley won the title of the 2026 Live Golf – Riyadh Championship in the singles category, which took place on the grounds of the Riyadh Golf Club, after he finished the competition by scoring 24 shots under the specified par.
Smiley was able to seize first place after presenting an outstanding performance on the last day, where he scored 8 strokes under par, one stroke ahead of Spaniard Jon Rahm, captain of the Legion Thirteen team, who settled for second place, while American Peter Yulin, player of the Ring Goats GC team, came in third place after achieving 21 strokes under par.
Smiley expressed his joy at the victory, stressing that his first participation in the Live Golf League posed a great challenge. He pointed out the strength of the competition and the diversity of circumstances that the players faced during the course of the tournament, appreciating at the same time the support provided to him by his team, which helped him give his best performance.
In the team competitions, the Reaper GC team won the championship title after its outstanding performance on the final day, recording 26 under-par shots, bringing the team’s overall total to 69 under-par shots. The team consists of the Australian quartet Cameron Smith, Elvis Smiley, Lucas Herbert, and Marc Leishman.
As for the Turk GC team, it came in second place with a score of 66 strokes under par, led by Chilean Joaquín Nyman, with the participation of Colombian Sebastian Muñoz, in addition to Mexicans Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz, while the Four Eyes GC team came in third place with a score of 59 strokes under par, led by American Dustin Johnson.
The “Leaf Golf – Riyadh” tournament is the first tournament in the 2026 season of the “Leaf Golf World League”, which begins with a series of prestigious international tournaments, and the attention of fans of this sport is directed to the Australian city of Adelaide, which will host the second round of the new season.
