Hezbollah, the resistance masses, and the people of the town of Rab Thaleen mourned the martyr Ahmed Hassan Fakih in a solemn ceremony held in the town of Toul in the Nabatieh district, in the presence of various figures and events, the families of the martyrs, religious scholars, and a large crowd of people.
After the honorary ceremony ended, a group of mujahideen took an oath of covenant and allegiance to continue on the path of resistance and martyrs. During the funeral, MP Dr. Ali Fayyad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, delivered a speech on behalf of Hezbollah, in which he said: “Ahmed Fakih passes away as a martyr, to join this blessed caravan of martyrs as leaders, fighters, and civilians.”
Fayyad added: “This enemy and its allies believe that continuing the hostilities against our people, killing, destroying, and displacing them, will push this people to submit, retreat, and surrender to the enemy’s conditions, which do not stop at borders, but rather want surrender, domination, and violation of sovereignty and security.”
He continued: “We say it out loud: Our people will not retreat, will not submit, will not surrender, and will not give up their right to defend themselves. They adhere to their national constants, and call on the state to adhere to these constants, which are: the Israeli withdrawal from our land, the return of prisoners, the cessation of hostilities, the unconditional return of the residents of the border villages to their villages, homes, and fields, and the launch of the reconstruction process.”
He added: “We call on the authority to get out of the state of confusion, hesitation, and free concessions, which the Israelis did not receive with any positive step, even a formal one. On the contrary, it rushed towards escalating its air strikes, intensifying them, and focusing them on civilian targets. As soon as the authority spoke of a second phase related to the north of the river, the enemy relied on that to consolidate its stability in the south of the river, and to use the authority’s position as a pretext for its raids north of the Litani River.”
Fayyad explained: “The Israelis and the American sponsor have turned the Mechanisms Committee into a real farce that lacks any credibility. They stop it at any time they want, move it at any time they want, impose an expansion of its role and then go back on that, while they talk about the end of International Resolution 1701, and that the ceasefire declaration with its provisions no longer applies.”
He considered that “what harms us and all the Lebanese is that the Lebanese authority turns into a puppet in the hands of these people, and what is required is to save the national position with some national dignity, steadfastness, self-confidence, and rationality in managing the Lebanese negotiating position.”
He concluded his speech by saying: “Quite simply and clearly, the authority must say an irrevocable word: Lebanon has committed and implemented what was required of it, and the enemy must adhere to what the ceasefire obligates it to do, and has not implemented anything of it until this moment. We call on the authority not to retreat one iota from this position, which paves the way for the restoration of the rights of the Lebanese.”
After that, Mr. Ali led the worshipers in the funeral prayer over the pure body, then the body was transported to the town of Rab Thilin, where he was buried in its cemetery alongside the believers and martyrs who preceded him.
