WhatsApp: News about imposing new fees!

Meta Platforms announced its plans to impose costs on the use of artificial intelligence-supported chat applications on WhatsApp in regions where regulatory bodies require these applications to be allowed.

The TechCrunch technical website indicates that this decision comes after the company’s ban on external chat applications on WhatsApp came into effect on January 15.

Currently, Meta will begin charging fees to developers in Italy, as the Italian Competition Authority had asked the company to suspend this policy last December.

The company explained that the new pricing system for unprepared responses will go into effect on February 16.

Meta intends to charge developers $0.0691 for each message sent through AI responses.

This could cause significant costs for developers if users are making thousands of queries daily through AI chat applications. (Arabic)
