Reliable sources reported that German Economy Minister Katharina Reiche will travel to Saudi Arabia from February 1 to 3. She will be accompanied by a delegation of senior executives from leading German companies, including Christian Bruch from Siemens Energy and Miguel Lopez from ThyssenKrupp, with the aim of strengthening economic ties and exploring promising investment horizons.
The visit will pay special attention to the energy sector, which is of paramount strategic importance for Germany after the disruption of cheap Russian gas supplies. The discussions will also include signing memorandums of understanding in the fields of energy, innovation, advanced technology and artificial intelligence, with a special focus on the startup sector.
In addition, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates between February 4 and 6, in order to follow up on Gulf countries’ investments in the German economy and diversify sources of energy supplies.
