Salah's contract renewal did not succeed.. Carragher attacks Liverpool's contract management

Former Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, launched a harsh attack on the current team’s performance under the leadership of coach Arne Slot, considering that the Reds have lost the ferocity and sharpness that distinguished them for years.

According to the British newspaper “The Athletic”, a large segment of Liverpool fans are disappointed by the lack of vitality in the team’s performance in the English Premier League, whether in pressuring opponents or the speed of transferring the ball, which Carragher attributed to the quality of the players and the team’s new tactical approach.

Carragher strongly criticized the contracting committee led by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, considering that the fateful decisions taken last summer “exploded in their faces.”

He hinted that renewing the contracts of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, despite its importance, has not achieved the desired results so far.

Carragher also criticized the new deals, saying: “Wirtz is starting to show good signs, but he is not at the required level yet. As for the Isaac deal, I cannot understand it. Liverpool was buying (the next Isaac) and they thought he was Ikitiki, so why buy Isaac for 125 million pounds when there is a striker for 69 million and a number 10 player like Wirtz?”

He continued: “The administration also failed to compensate Luis Diaz, and the major players from last season did not perform as expected, so the five major decisions they made failed.”

Jimmy Carragher explained that the nature of the players directly affects the rhythm of the team, saying: “If you lose Luis Diaz (who was sold to Bayern Munich) and bring in Florian Wirtz, you are facing two completely different players. Diaz is a natural runner, while Wirtz has different skill abilities, but you are moving the team in another direction. No one can argue that Darwin Nunez is a better footballer than Hugo Equitiki, but Nunez was running like crazy sometimes, which gave the team energy and strength that is missing now.” (Russia Today)
