Goodbye Apple Watch.. Unveiling the new Apple pin with artificial intelligence technology

The wearables market is witnessing a remarkable shift, as technology giants turn their eyes to a new category of smart devices, “pins” powered by artificial intelligence. Indicators indicate that Apple is entering this field strongly, despite previous experiments that did not achieve the desired success, such as the “Humin” pin.

According to a report published by The Information, Apple is currently developing an AI-powered smart pin, similar in size to the AirTag. This pin is intended to be a potential alternative or complement to traditional wearable devices, most notably the Apple Watch.

Launch date and expected price: Although there is no official announcement yet, leaks indicate the possibility of Apple’s smart pin being put on the market starting next year. Regarding the price, the analyzes expect it to be lower than the price of the Apple Watch, which starts at $249 for the Apple Watch SE 3. This expectation is due to the criticism directed at the price of the “Humin” pin when it was launched for $699.

According to the report, Apple is also studying the possibility of marketing the device as part of shared packages with the latest versions of the iPhone or Apple Watch, a step that would enhance its spread upon its launch.

Compact Design and Advanced Specifications: In terms of design, the pin is expected to be roughly similar in size to an AirTag, with a slightly larger thickness, and a flat, circular body made of aluminum and possibly glass.

From a technical standpoint, the device is likely to include two cameras; A wide and standard lens, three microphones, a small speaker mounted near the edge, and one physical control button.

The information indicates that the cameras and microphones will capture the scene surrounding the user and analyze the data to provide information and intelligent interactions in real time. One of the microphones is expected to be dedicated to directly capturing the user’s voice, while the other microphones are used to monitor ambient sounds.

The pin will support voice and gesture control, similar to what current Apple Watches offer, as well as inductive magnetic charging. However, battery life details are still unannounced.

Intense competition and questions about Siri: Although these leaks are still a matter of speculation, they come at a sensitive time, especially with reports about the company “Open AI” preparing to launch a competing smart pin, with about 20 million units being prepared for the launch.

Observers believe that Apple’s entry into this field depends on providing an advanced artificial intelligence experience, especially in light of the criticism directed at its voice assistant, Siri. With previous confirmations about developing a new version of Siri supported by Gemini technologies, the most important question remains: Will Apple succeed in providing an artificial intelligence experience that meets the aspirations of users and supports the launch of its awaited smart pin?
