The 2026 AFC Futsal Cup will kick off in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on Tuesday, January 27, with the participation of sixteen national teams competing fiercely to win the cup until the final match on February 7. This is the second time that Indonesia has hosted this major sporting event, as the competitions will be held in two sports halls: “Velodrome Jakarta International” and “Indonesia Arena”.
The second group competitions will begin on Tuesday with a match between Thailand (runner-up in the 2024 edition) and the Lebanese national team, which returns to the finals for the thirteenth time in its history, at one o’clock in the afternoon, Jakarta time (ten o’clock in the morning, Beirut time). Within the same group, the Vietnam team will face its Kuwaiti counterpart at five o’clock in the evening (two o’clock in the afternoon Beirut time).
In the context of the first group matches, the Iraqi national team begins its journey by meeting the Kyrgyz national team at three o’clock in the afternoon (twelve noon Beirut time) in the “Indonesia Arena” hall. While the Indonesian national team, the host, will conclude the first day’s activities by facing Korea at exactly seven in the evening (four in the afternoon Beirut time), amidst anticipation of the presence of a large audience.
It is worth noting that the eighteenth edition of the tournament witnesses the return of thirteen teams to participate in continental competitions, while Iran, Japan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan maintain their distinguished history of appearing in all editions of the tournament since its inception.
