“No right has been lost.” Calling retirees to protest on Tuesday

The National Council of Retired State Employees announced the organization of a huge demonstration on Tuesday, January 26, 2026, and called on all retirees to actively participate in it.

This demonstration begins at 11 am from Bechara El Khoury Square, heading towards the Parliament, in addition to participating in the major movement that will take place around the Parliament on the same day.

In a statement issued by it, the Council affirmed: “O retirees, no right is lost and demands are left behind.” The statement indicated that this call comes “in view of the prolonged procrastination in seriously addressing the issue of improving salaries, wages and pensions, and in conjunction with the call for the Parliament to convene as of 1/26/2026 to discuss and approve the general budget, the National Council for Veterans of State Employees, in full coordination with the various links within the Public Sector Associations Association, calls on retirees to participate in the massive demonstration that will begin at 11 am next Tuesday from Bechara El Khoury Square towards the Council. Parliament, as well as in the major movement around the Council that begins on the aforementioned day.”

At its conclusion, the statement called on retirees to “answer this call with great responsibility, in order to achieve the right demands.”
