Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani, announced an important decision aimed at setting a minimum price for fresh (raw) cow’s milk in support of farmers and to protect local production, in light of the difficult economic conditions that have significantly affected production costs.
Based on this decision, the prices per kilogram of milk were set as follows:
“At the farm (unrefrigerated): 74 US cents (equivalent to 66,230 Lebanese pounds).”
“At the farm (raw): 77 US cents (equivalent to 68,915 Lebanese pounds).”
“Delivered to the factory (refrigerated): 80 US cents (equivalent to 71,600 Lebanese pounds).”
The decision, in its second article, emphasized the importance of farmers adhering to the approved Lebanese standards and criteria for the quality of fresh milk. The decision also clarified that it cancels any previous decisions that conflict with these new prices, with this decision being implemented immediately.
