تأجيل جلسة الحكومة إلى الأسبوع القادم في دافوس.. وقضايا ملحة تتصدر جدول الأعمال!

Amid the negative escalation by professors and employees demanding salary adjustments, and pressure on the government to make a decisive decision in its upcoming session this week, things changed with the travel of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Finance Minister Yassin Jaber to Switzerland. This travel aims to participate in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, held from January 19 to 23.

While President Salam participates in the meeting under the title “The Spirit of Dialogue,” he leaves employees and professors without any communication, leading to the disruption of departments and official schools, and harming the interests of citizens, which negatively affects the public treasury and the struggling economy.

According to information, there is no cabinet session this week, due to the Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s trip to Switzerland to attend the Davos Forum.

Information indicates the possibility of holding a government session next week at Baabda Palace, dedicated to listening to the monthly report of the Lebanese Army. The army commander is scheduled to present the North Litani River plan during the session, before his official visit to Washington.

However, the demands of employees and professors are likely to be discussed on the session’s agenda, with the aim of reconsidering salaries. According to information, the ministers concerned seek to study the matter in proportion to the treasury’s ability, by integrating increases and productivity allowances, and raising salaries to approach their value before the economic crisis, by a percentage of approximately 50%.
