The Egyptian Football Association, headed by “Hani Abu Rida,” sent an official congratulatory letter to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, headed by “Fouzi Lekjaa,” today, Wednesday. In its letter, the Federation expressed its deep appreciation for the outstanding success achieved by Morocco in organizing and hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian Federation praised the high level of organization, advanced infrastructure, and high-quality logistical services that were provided. It considered that what Morocco presented shows the great development it has achieved in the field of hosting major sports tournaments.

Egypt also praised the warm welcome and hospitality received by the Pharaohs delegation throughout the tournament, stressing that this reflects the strength of the brotherly and historical relations that unite the Egyptian and Moroccan people, as stated in the letter.

At the end of his message, the Egyptian Federation affirmed its confidence in the continuation and consolidation of joint cooperation between football officials in the two countries, with the aim of achieving the aspirations of the fans in Egypt and Morocco, and supporting the presence and status of Arab football in continental and international forums.

Statements by “Hossam Hassan”:

This Egyptian letter comes after controversial statements made by the Pharaohs’ coach, “Hossam Hassan,” following the loss to Senegal (1-0) yesterday, Wednesday, in the semi-finals, where he indirectly criticized the Moroccan fans’ support for the Lions of Teranga, in the match that was held in the city of Tangier.

In addition, there had been previous disputes between him and his brother “Ibrahim” with some fans, during some of the tournament’s matches.
