The Egyptian national team will miss the services of its defender Hossam Abdel Maguid in its upcoming match in the African Cup of Nations currently held in Morocco.
The “Pharaohs” are preparing for a crucial match against Senegal in the semi-finals of the tournament, where the national team seeks to participate either in the final match in case of winning tonight, or in the match for third and fourth place in case of losing.
Hossam Abdel Maguid’s absence came due to receiving a warning in the sixth minute of the match between Egypt and Senegal, as a result of a strong tackle on one of the “Lions of Teranga” players.
A number of players from the Egyptian national team participated in the match against Senegal while carrying yellow cards from the round of 16 and quarter-final matches against Benin and Côte d’Ivoire, and these players are: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ahmed Fattouh, Rami Rabia, Marwan Attia, Hamdi Fathi, and Hossam Abdel Maguid.
In a related context, Kalidou Koulibaly, the Senegalese national team defender, will miss his country’s upcoming match, after receiving his second yellow card in the knockout stages of the tournament, after the first card he received in their match against Mali in the 90th minute.
The matter was not limited to the Senegalese national team at this point, as the referee showed the yellow card to Habib Diarra during the match, which confirms his absence from the upcoming match as well.
