During a memorial service held by Hezbollah for the deceased “Jaafar Khalil Qusayr” in the Al-Shuhadaa Hall in Deir Qanun Al-Nahr, MP Hussein Jishi, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, affirmed the necessity of holding parliamentary elections on their scheduled date, stressing that he sees no justification for postponing them, and confirming that it is the right of the Lebanese people to choose their representatives and express their will freely.
He pointed out that the nation is based on mutual trust and credibility between the authority and the people, considering that adherence to the resistance is due to it being a fundamental deterrent force that prevents the enemy from thinking about attacking Lebanon at any time they wish, as happened in the years “1972,” “1978,” and “1982.” He added that if the authority is able to liberate the land and deter the enemy without the need for resistance, it must prove that in reality, but, as he said, it is incapable and has nothing but words.
Jishi indicated that the resistance, despite all the criticism and injustice it is subjected to, is open to cooperation and understanding, stressing the importance of remaining alongside the state, which it considers an essential part of it, in order to achieve the interest of the nation, the dignity of the Lebanese, and the preservation of their sovereignty.
He explained that the increasing talk about the feasibility of the resistance’s weapon ignores the fact that this weapon emerged after the state’s failure to perform its duties, and that armed resistance is what expelled the enemy, liberated the land, and defeated it from multiple Lebanese regions, noting that whoever denies this role is ungrateful, after the sacrifices made by the resistance in “Bint Jbeil,” “Rmeish,” “Nabi Othman,” “Ras Baalbek,” “Al-Qaa,” and “Arsal.”
In response to those who believe that the resistance’s weapon is no longer effective, Jishi said that there is no weapon that can completely prevent targeting, and he wondered if the advanced technologies that the enemy possesses have prevented resistance operations from reaching its depths, or prevented its missiles from reaching “Tel Aviv,” or enabled its forces to break through the resistance’s defenses or establish its presence in any border town despite the passage of “66” days of confrontations.
He added that the international community’s insistence on demanding the disarmament of the resistance confirms its effectiveness, considering that this weapon is what stopped the war on Lebanon and prompted the former US Ambassador, “Lisa Johnson,” to submit a ceasefire proposal to the Speaker of Parliament, “Nabih Berri,” stressing that describing the weapon as ineffective is a deception aimed at misleading the resistance’s environment.
Jishi considered that the wise person is the one who preserves the sources of his strength in light of what he described as American hegemony and Israeli crimes against Lebanon, Palestine, and the region, calling for not relying on what is called the international community and its laws that are violated on a daily basis.
In a separate context, he criticized US policies, considering that the United States behaves with a logic of domination, and gives Israel full cover to continue its attacks on Lebanon, while exerting pressure on the Lebanese state and people through its envoys to achieve what the enemy failed to achieve on the ground.
He concluded his speech by addressing those who boast about their relations with the United States, saying that this is the American logic with Lebanon, wondering about the fate that the country might face if it succumbed to Washington’s will, and emphasizing that the presence of the resistance is what prevents reaching this fate.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the grandson of the deceased, Sheikh “Mujtaba Qusayr,” delivered a speech on behalf of the family, in which he spoke about his qualities, his journey, and his milestones in obedience to God. A message of condolence was also received from the head of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP “Mohammad Raad,” to the family of the deceased, in which he praised his journey, his contributions, and the sacrifices made by the family in the resistance movement.
