
The head of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce, “Abdul Rahim Ziada,” discussed with a group of car dealers and spare parts importers the current situation of the car trade in Syria, and they discussed the most important difficulties and obstacles facing this sector.
The meeting addressed the difficulties related to the import and distribution of spare parts, in addition to issues related to the organization of local markets, and ways to develop the business environment in a way that ensures market stability and protects consumer rights.
The attendees suggested the idea of establishing a traffic services center affiliated with the Damascus Countryside Traffic Directorate in the Qutaifeh area, with the aim of completing vehicle inspection and registration transactions for the Qalamoun area in the Damascus countryside. The possibility of launching an initiative to manufacture car spare parts to support local industry was also discussed, and it was agreed to include this initiative among the available investment opportunities, according to the Syrian News Agency “SANA.”
