Sam Szczerba, Head of Innovation at LinkedIn, announced the platform’s readiness to launch a series of changes and updates in the coming period. These updates aim to enhance the benefit of content creators by increasing publishing capabilities, improving interaction methods, and generating profits.
This statement came during his participation in the fourth edition of the Billion Followers Summit in the United Arab Emirates, a three-day summit that concludes on January 11 and bears the slogan “Content with a Purpose.”
During a dialogue session entitled “The Next Phase for Content Creators on LinkedIn,” Sam emphasized that LinkedIn is distinguished from other social networks by its focus on building professional relationships, exchanging experiences, and providing economic opportunities, rather than just entertainment or widespread dissemination.
He also explained that the LinkedIn audience consists of three main groups: the direct user network, the professional network that cares about their activity, and the general public. This requires content creators to provide content based on credibility, interaction, and building a clear professional identity.
He pointed out that the success of content on LinkedIn does not only depend on the number of views, but also on the level of interaction, building trust, and exchanging professional opportunities and real-world experiences.
Sam revealed that the platform is currently working on developing technical updates and forging new partnerships to facilitate the publishing process and expand the reach of content. He also hinted that the company is considering the possibility of monetizing video views, similar to what is done on other social media platforms.
