To dedicate space for discussions related to health and wellness, OpenAI has announced the launch of a new feature within its popular platform “ChatGPT” called ChatGPT Health.
This feature aims to separate health conversations from general user conversations, in order to prevent sensitive medical topics from appearing in unrelated discussions. If a user starts discussing a health topic outside of the Health section, the system may suggest moving to the dedicated space. The company explained that this organization aims to enhance privacy and provide a more focused experience for the user, according to what was published by tribune.
The ChatGPT Health feature allows artificial intelligence to extract limited context from other conversations. For example, if a user has previously talked about marathon training, the system may recognize them as a runner when providing fitness advice in the health section.
This feature will also be integrated with health and fitness apps such as Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal, allowing users to refer to their personal health data if they wish.
Fidji Simo, CEO of Apps at OpenAI, said via the official blog that ChatGPT Health is designed to address structural challenges in the healthcare sector, including high costs, difficulty in accessing doctors, pressure on hospital systems, and gaps in the continuity of care. Simo stressed that the product aims to provide supportive information to users, and not as a substitute for doctors or medical professionals.
The ChatGPT Health feature is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks, as the company continues to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of using artificial intelligence in the health field.
