Xabi Alonso, the coach of Real Madrid, is preparing to lead his team in the highly anticipated match against Atlético Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, scheduled for tomorrow evening, Thursday.

The Merengue team enters the match with the aim of revenge and compensating for their heavy defeat in the last derby with a score of 2-5, seeking to reconcile with their fans and restore their local standing.
Regarding the result of the last match between Real and Atlético, Alonso stated in the pre-match press conference: “We were lacking in some aspects at the time, and we are fully aware of that so as not to repeat the same mistakes. We want to play at a higher level.”
The Spanish coach added: “Atlético Madrid is always a tough opponent, we have reasons to play with all enthusiasm against them, the title is at stake, and that is why the match is important.”
Regarding the absence of Kylian Mbappé, he said: “We have to assess him.. We are here now to play strong matches, and we want him back as soon as possible. Our focus is on the semi-final match and winning it so that we can reach the final.”
It is worth mentioning that Real Madrid had announced Mbappé’s injury with a sprain in his left knee, which will prevent him from participating in the Spanish Super Cup, with doctors keen not to aggravate the injury, especially in light of the current pressure of matches.
Regarding his instructions to Vinicius Júnior to press more against Betis, Alonso explained: “Collective pressing is very essential for us.. We must be close and cohesive as well, and work hard together, for only in this way can we compete.”
