Inter Miami star prepares for the post-retirement phase by learning the basics of business.
Lionel Messi, the star of Inter Miami, revealed aspects of his daily life in Miami and his aspirations for after the end of his football career.
In an interview with Luzu TV, Messi said: “In the United States, I live quietly. In this part of Miami, where there are many Americans, people live differently and do not give football much importance. In Barcelona, I used to go out and people were used to it; I lived there all my life and always visited the same places, and it was normal as I lived a normal life.”
He continued: “My life depends a lot on routine, and here with my children it is similar, we go to training, but we don’t go out much.”
In a clear indication of his future plans after retiring from playing, Messi stated that he aspires to own a club and supervise its construction and development himself.
He explained: “I don’t like the coaching profession, but I am more inclined to the ownership side. I would like to own my own club, contribute to its growth and start from scratch, and give young people the opportunity to develop and build an important club.”
Messi concluded his talk by emphasizing that his involvement in the business world helps him prepare for the post-football phase, stressing the importance of the team around him: “I have people around me who have helped me a lot. Throughout my life, my thinking has been focused on football, but there comes a time when one must look beyond that. I love this aspect and I try to learn, but the most important thing is to surround myself with qualified people.”
