From Morocco to Saudi Arabia.. “The Spanish Super Cup Exposes the Millions Difference”
The Spanish Super Cup championship has witnessed a remarkable development in the volume of financial returns since the organization was transferred to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where it has become an important source of income for the Spanish Football Federation and the participating clubs.
The 2026 edition kicks off tomorrow in Saudi Arabia, noting that it will be available via the “Thmanyah App,” the official broadcaster of the Saudi Roshn League.
The Spanish newspaper AS quoted statements by the President of the Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Lozano, in which he highlighted the enormous increase in the tournament’s revenues.
According to the newspaper, Lozano said: “In 2018 in Morocco, the Super Cup achieved revenues of $1.17 million. Now we are going to Saudi Arabia, where revenues exceed $58.5 million, half of which goes to the participating clubs, and $30.4 million is directed to the national league clubs, specifically to the first division in Spanish football.”
The report stated that the current tournament generates annual revenues of approximately $31.6 million from sponsorships, $12.9 million from television broadcasting rights, and $11.7 million from services, in addition to $3.5 million allocated to cover travel and hotel accommodation costs.
The report indicated that these figures reflect the significant development that the tournament has witnessed and its transformation into an important source of financial income for both the Spanish Federation and the clubs, in addition to increasing its attractiveness internationally.
