Sudden statement for everyone
Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team, expressed his great pleasure at the exciting victory his team achieved over the Benin national team with a score of 3-1 in the Round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco.
Salah was able to score the third goal for the “Pharaohs” national team moments before the end of the match, after the confrontation extended into extra time.
In statements to the media after the match, Salah said: “The match was difficult… We proved our superiority at the end of the match, and the most important thing is that we were better physically.”
Salah confirmed that the Egyptian national team aspires to continue competing in the continental championship, pointing to the difficulty of the competition in this edition.
Regarding the expectations of Egypt winning the title, Salah explained: “Of course we are candidates, but the competition is not easy… All I can say is that we are playing with a team whose majority consists of elements from the Egyptian league.”
Salah seeks to win the continental title for the first time in his history, after losing the final match twice in the 2017 and 2021 editions.
