
The Cabinet will hold its session at the Presidential Palace on Thursday at 2:00 PM, chaired by the President of the Republic and attended by the Prime Minister and ministers. The session will discuss a wide range of fundamental issues on the agenda, including security, financial, administrative, and legislative matters.

According to the official agenda, the session begins with the army leadership presenting its monthly report on the “plan to confine weapons in all Lebanese regions,” in implementation of Cabinet decisions issued on “May 8, 2025” and other related decisions, in light of rapid security developments and current challenges.
The agenda also includes a presentation from the Ministry of Environment to determine the “reference environment and methodology and mechanisms for intervention within the reconstruction path,” in line with approved standards and plans to address the damages.
On the financial and legislative fronts, the Cabinet will discuss several requests and draft laws, including:
“A draft law aiming to close the account of general budgets and annexed budgets for the year 2021.”
“A draft law to amend some articles of the new traffic law.”
“Draft laws related to the restoration of university degrees, the appointment of faculty members, and the termination of services of professors in the faculty of the Lebanese University.”
In addition, the Council will discuss agreements and memoranda of understanding with countries and external entities, including:
“An agreement to avoid double taxation between Lebanon and Spain.”
“A memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Embassy of India to implement a sports project.”
“An agreement to regulate manpower and electronic linking between Lebanon and Egypt.”
“A memorandum of understanding with TikTok.”
The Council will also address files related to the Ministry of National Defense, including “administrative settlements related to donations from the German government for the benefit of the Lebanese Army,” and projects in the fields of energy and communications.
Regarding appointments and functional affairs, the Council will discuss:
“Renewal of contracts for employees in the electronic center affiliated with the Directorate of Public Finance.”
“Appointments and renewals in a number of public administrations and institutions.”
Files pertaining to the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to the “Higher Relief Commission” will also be presented.
The agenda also includes various regulatory items related to “extending communication services to security and military agencies,” licensing media outlets, approving exemptions and fees, and participating in external conferences and meetings at the expense of the state.
This session comes in light of a sensitive political and security situation, which gives the expected decisions special importance, especially those related to security, administrative reforms, and the management of financial and economic files.
