
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it is joining the “Gulf Shield 2026” exercise hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The ministry explained in a statement published on its official account on the “X” platform that the aim of the exercise is to enhance combat capabilities and develop joint military cooperation, in addition to achieving integration in joint operations according to the highest standards.
The UAE Ministry of Defense also stated that the “Gulf Shield” exercise includes a set of measures and scenarios designed to assess readiness and effectiveness in dealing with various threats, with the aim of enhancing the ability to flexibly deter the GCC countries.
According to what the ministry published, the “Gulf Shield” exercise is a prominent example of joint defense cooperation and reflects the commitment of the GCC countries to enhance their security and stability, and consolidate the concept of collective military action to face current and future challenges.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday, through its official account on the “X” platform, the start of the “Gulf Shield 2026” exercise in the Kingdom, with the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with the aim of raising the level of combat readiness, enhancing joint work, and achieving integration in the joint operations environment.
The ministry indicated that the exercise includes a comprehensive set of procedures, tests and hypotheses designed to assess combat readiness and the effectiveness of responding to various threats, in a way that enhances integration in the flexible deterrence system, stressing that it is a joint defense cooperation that enhances combat readiness to face current, emerging and future threats.
