The Tunisian Football Federation has announced the termination of the contract with “Sami Trabelsi” and his coaching staff, following the Tunisian national team’s exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations competition. This decision came after the Tunisian team’s loss to the Malian team on penalties in the round of 16 of the tournament, in the match that took place yesterday evening.
The Federation issued an official statement today announcing the dismissal, justifying it with the early exit from the tournament, and the subsequent public anger and sharp criticism of the team’s technical performance, despite the hopes placed on achieving better results in the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that the Tunisian national team failed to settle the match during the original and extra time, and bid farewell to the tournament through penalties, which is the scenario that thwarted the ambitions of the “Eagles of Carthage” in this edition of the tournament.
It is expected that the Tunisian Federation will reveal in the coming days the name of the new coach who will lead the team in the next stage, with a comprehensive evaluation of the team’s performance and future plans.
